Strandkurhaus Waging am See | Opening Hours & Menu

The Strandkurhaus Waging am See is one of those places where a simple outing can turn into a whole summer day. Located directly on Lake Waging, the facility combines a bathing park, lake view, gastronomy, and leisure feeling into a very distinctive place with recognition value. Those looking for photos, opening hours, menu, beer garden, parking, or the history surrounding Sebastian Schuhbeck will not land here by chance: The Strandkurhaus stands for lake atmosphere, Bavarian cuisine, Mediterranean lightness, and a location that looks inviting as soon as you arrive. The bathing park at Strandkurhaus is located on the southwestern shore of Lake Waging, covers about 10 hectares, offers a promenade of about 3 kilometers, and a gravel beach approximately 500 meters long. In addition, the beach inn serves as the gastronomic center with a lakeside terrace, lounge, and views of the water and mountains. Opening Hours, Reservations, and Current Visiting Times

Anyone wishing to visit the Strandkurhaus Waging am See should first pay attention to the current opening hours, as they determine the ideal time for lunch, dinner, or a spontaneous trip to the water. The beach inn, which is the gastronomic part of the Strandkurhaus, is currently open on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 5 PM. On Saturdays and Sundays, it opens at 12 PM, while Tuesdays and Wednesdays are rest days. The official website also lists seasonal adjustments and special holiday hours, such as for Whit Monday and Corpus Christi, so a quick look before visiting is always worthwhile. For planning, it is pleasantly clear: those looking for a quiet evening during the week should visit on opening days, while those wanting lunch with a lake view should plan for the weekend. ([strandwirt-waging.de](https://www.strandwirt-waging.de/))

These opening hours are particularly important for the search intent of opening hours because the Strandkurhaus is not just a restaurant but also a meeting point by the lake. Therefore, visits often depend on weather, time of day, and season. That’s why the place suits both a quick stop for a drink and a longer break with food, a walk, and a view over the lake. The official site of the beach inn also offers online table reservations and refers to reservation options, which is particularly useful on weekends when the terrace, lounge, and dining area are in high demand. It can also be worthwhile to inquire early for groups or special occasions, as the beach inn explicitly positions itself as a place for relaxed visits as well as for planned moments of enjoyment. ([strandcamp.de](https://www.strandcamp.de/strandwirt/))

For the keyword question about the menu, the current orientation is also helpful: The beach inn is not just any lakeside restaurant, but an establishment with a clear signature. The host family and their team emphasize regional products, seasonal ingredients, and a cuisine that is oriented towards the landscape around Lake Waging. This means in practice that opening hours and menu should be considered together: Those who want to enjoy the beer garden, lakeside terrace, or indoor area will find different experiences there depending on the season and daily condition. This is what makes the place so attractive for search queries about opening hours, reservations, and menu, as a visit here is more than just basic catering. Menu, Dishes, and the Cuisine at Lake Waging

The menu of the Strandkurhaus is a core point of the entire location, as the theme of the menu is not treated as an addition, but as an experience. On the official website, the beach inn describes its concept as a combination of Bavarian culinary culture and Mediterranean cuisine. This is very concretely reflected in dishes such as beef goulash, schnitzel, Italian pasta, baked pinsa, and crunchy salad bowls. Seasonal specialties, fresh ingredients, and a focus on artisanal preparation are also included. Particularly appealing is the mix of down-to-earth classics and modern lightness: those who prefer hearty meals will find plenty of Bavarian character; those who want to eat a bit lighter or more Mediterranean will also find suitable dishes. ([strandwirt-waging.de](https://www.strandwirt-waging.de/))

New in the gastronomic profile is also the current management: Kevin Paradiso as head chef and Benjamin Kotter as restaurant manager took over the gastronomic responsibility at the beach inn in mid-2025. According to the official website, the duo aims to provide each guest with an unforgettable experience at Lake Waging. From an SEO perspective, this is important because search queries like menu, menu card, or restaurant by the lake not only refer to a menu but often seek quality, style, and signature. This signature is visible here through the mix of traditional Bavarian dishes, Mediterranean ideas, and regional products. Those looking for a place with real enjoyment character and not just a beautiful view will find exactly this combination at the beach inn. ([strandcamp.de](https://www.strandcamp.de/strandwirt/))

The cuisine also includes recurring formats that further enhance the menu. The website mentions a Pinsa & Burger Night, where guests can create individual burgers or pinsa on Fridays. There is also a note about oven-fresh roast pork every Sunday. The culinary profile is complemented by beer from the Schönram brewery, which is highlighted as a regional partner at the beach inn. This is particularly relevant for the search terms menu and menu card, as it shows that the place offers not just individual plates but a whole culinary concept: from a quick visit to a family evening to a longer dinner with a lake view. ([strandwirt-waging.de](https://www.strandwirt-waging.de/))

Lakeside Terrace, Beer Garden, and Promenade by the Water

When searching for the Strandkurhaus beer garden Waging am See, it is usually about atmosphere, view, and summer mood. This is where the location scores particularly well. The lakeside terrace is located directly on the water and offers a view over Lake Waging and the surrounding mountains. It is officially described as a place to relax, eat, or spend the evening outdoors. Additionally, there is a cozy lounge with beach furniture, where wine or beer is particularly enjoyable with a view of the lake. This mix of terrace, lounge, and water location makes the Strandkurhaus an address that stands not only for food but also for pictures, impressions, and experiences. Those looking for photos will find many motifs here: panorama, shore, light reflections, and the calm presence of the lake. ([strandwirt-waging.de](https://www.strandwirt-waging.de/))

In addition to the beach inn, there is a beer garden by the lake at the bathing park, which offers Bavarian cuisine, beer garden classics, and grill specialties during the summer months. It is located directly at the bathing park on Lake Waging and is open seasonally, currently from June 6 to about September 10, daily from 12 PM to 8 PM. This is the ideal complement to the restaurant for many visitors: those who want to swim, stroll, or simply spend a summer day by the lake can easily stop by in between. Therefore, search queries like beer garden and opening hours lead to a very practical result, as the location directly by the water makes it a real summer meeting point. The beer garden is not a minor detail but part of a whole lake and bathing culture that is consciously maintained at the Strandkurhaus. ([strandcamp.de](https://www.strandcamp.de/biergarten/))

Another relevant point for the themes around lakeside terrace and atmosphere is the promenade at the Strandkurhaus. According to the official website, guests and locals gather there every Tuesday in summer at the beach promenade. Between May 26 and September 8, 2026, regional musicians will provide entertainment from 5 PM; there will also be stalls with regional direct marketers and crafts. This makes the place visible not only as a restaurant but also as a lively event space. For the search intent photos or about, this is particularly exciting because the promenade creates a scene that fits the place very well: water, music, regional products, and an audience that lingers rather than hurries. ([strandwirt-waging.de](https://www.strandwirt-waging.de/))

Parking, Access, and Bathing Park at the Strandkurhaus

For many visitors, parking and access are just as important as the menu and view, which is why the bathing park at the Strandkurhaus plays a central role. The official bathing park is publicly accessible and offers about 40,000 square meters of lawn as well as enough space for locals, vacationers, and day guests along a promenade of about 3 kilometers. A 500-meter-long gravel beach leads comfortably into the water, and steps or ladders provide access to the lake along the promenade. For families, there is also a non-swimmer area and a playground. This makes the Strandkurhaus not just a gastronomic address but a complete summer day destination with swimming, strolling, dining, and relaxing. ([strandcamp.de](https://www.strandcamp.de/oeffentlicher-badepark-und-parkplatz/))

When it comes to parking, the location directly at the bathing park is particularly convenient, as there is a paid parking lot on site. It is open from 9 AM to 6 PM. The first 30 minutes are free, after which parking costs 1 euro per hour with a minimum fee of 2 euros. A day ticket costs 6 euros, and an annual ticket costs 50 euros; payment is made at the machine or via the Parkster app. For camping guests and guests of rental accommodations, there are additional free parking options with the appropriate parking permit at check-in. This information is particularly useful for anyone searching for parking, access, or Strandkurhaus Waging am See, as it makes the visit immediately planable. ([strandcamp.de](https://www.strandcamp.de/oeffentlicher-badepark-und-parkplatz/))

The location at Lake Waging itself is also a significant part of the attraction. The region describes the lake as the warmest bathing lake in Upper Bavaria; at the same time, the bathing park at the Strandkurhaus is designed as a large, family-friendly facility with plenty of space. The official tourism site describes the lake as 12 kilometers long, 3 kilometers wide, and 27 meters deep at its deepest point. This combination of shallow, pleasantly warm water and a generous shoreline explains why the bathing park has been so popular for years. For search queries about access or bathing park, not only the parking lot is relevant, but the whole experience: arriving, swimming, dining, strolling, and extending the day by the lake. ([chiemsee-chiemgau.info](https://www.chiemsee-chiemgau.info/strandbad-am-strandkurhaus))

History, Sebastian Schuhbeck, and the Strandkurhaus

Anyone searching for Strandkurhaus Sebastian Schuhbeck Waging am See or about will inevitably come across the tourist history of the place. The official history of the Strand camping site began in 1951 when Wilhelm Scharnow from Bremen took notice of Waging. Subsequently, the then-mayor Schuhbeck and Mr. Hafenmair supported the development of accommodations and tourism structures. In 1953, the Strandkurhaus was finally built, along with an initial sanitary building and the sewer system. In the same year, Waging am See was officially designated as a spa resort. This is important for the classification of the location because the Strandkurhaus did not arise from a modern trend but from a long development that still shapes the place today. ([strandcamp.de](https://www.strandcamp.de/strand-camping/))

The connection to Sebastian Schuhbeck is a topic of its own for many search queries. According to the official site of the Baroque Museum, the Baroque Museum Sebastian Schuhbeck was opened in the Strandkurhaus in 2006. There, over 400 square meters in ten rooms showcase exhibits from noble ownership as well as from ecclesiastical and agricultural origins. According to the website, the museum is considered one of the most significant collections of Baroque art in the region between Munich and Salzburg. Additionally, the former Kurhausstüberl was historically associated with Alfons Schuhbeck, which has further anchored the name in public perception. Therefore, for searches about or Sebastian Schuhbeck, the Strandkurhaus is not only gastronomy but also a place with cultural-historical depth. ([strandcamp.de](https://www.strandcamp.de/barockmuseum/))

Today, the facility is part of a significantly larger ensemble. According to the official history, the site now covers 36 hectares and has been awarded the ADAC Innovation Prize and the DCC Europe Prize, among others. Additionally, the operation refers to its evolved role as a place of experience with culinary offerings, leisure, nature, and culture. This explains why the Strandkurhaus frequently appears in search queries with terms like photos, about, and history: The place is visually strong, historically charged, and simultaneously very contemporary. Between the bathing park, restaurant, museum, and event formats, a picture emerges that goes far beyond a single establishment. This is precisely what makes the location SEO-strong and so versatile for visitors in reality. ([strandcamp.de](https://www.strandcamp.de/strand-camping/))

Photos, View, and Why a Visit is Worthwhile

For the search intent photos, the Strandkurhaus Waging am See is almost a no-brainer because the location offers a lot visually. It starts with the lakeside terrace directly on the water, goes through the lounge with beach furniture, and ends with the unobstructed view of the lake and the surrounding mountains. The official website explicitly describes a panoramic view of Lake Waging, the Chiemgau and Salzburg mountain ranges, as well as the relaxed atmosphere in the newly designed dining area. Those looking for pictures of the Strandkurhaus usually want to see exactly this mix: water, light, wood, terrace, people, and summer mood. The combination of indoor and outdoor spaces is particularly attractive because it provides very different motifs depending on the season. ([strandwirt-waging.de](https://www.strandwirt-waging.de/))

Particularly photogenic is also the contrast between nature and infrastructure. On one side are the lawn, gravel beach, promenade, and non-swimmer area, while on the other side are the restaurant, lounge, beer garden, and museum reference. This contrast makes the place so appealing for day guests, vacationers, and families. One can swim in the morning, eat at noon, stroll in the afternoon, and still visit the promenade in the evening. For the search terms strandkurhaus waging am see photos and strandkurhaus waging am see about, this is valuable because a place wants to be experienced, not just explained. The Strandkurhaus provides several levels for this: landscape, culinary, events, and history. ([chiemsee-chiemgau.info](https://www.chiemsee-chiemgau.info/strandbad-am-strandkurhaus))

In the end, a visit is particularly worthwhile because many elements come together that make a good lakeside location. The Strandkurhaus is publicly accessible, family-friendly, gastronomically independent, and historically remarkable. It is a bathing and leisure place during the day, a restaurant with a view in the evening, and a lively meeting point with music and regional stalls on selected days. Therefore, anyone looking for a place that neatly combines enjoyment, lake experience, and practical information such as opening hours, menu, beer garden, and parking will find a very rounded address at the Strandkurhaus Waging am See. This is precisely why the location remains memorable and is suitable for a quick stop as well as for a long summer day. Personally I am not used to excellent food but this is almost UNACCEPTABLE. The food might look good but don’t let that fool you. It is absolutely horrifying and the vegetables as well as all of the potatoes were frozen. The meat was almost tasteless and completely drunk into a sauce which believed to be mushroom sauce but was more likely to be a cream massacre. The service was completely messed up too, we didn’t get the menu and had to get it ourselves. After doing so we didn’t manage to even order drinks within 20 minutes. After asking twice if we could order a fairly friendly waiter (THAT WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO SERVE US) took our order. Funnily enough the waiter was completely clueless and arrived 5 minutes later asking if we would like to order something. On a positive note the water was good and the beer was too. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DONT GO HERE AND AVOID.
