Attel 11, Wasserburg am Inn-Attel

Attel 11, 83512 Wasserburg am Inn, Germany

Stiftung Attl | Living & Work

The Stiftung Attl near Wasserburg am Inn is much more than a classic institution with residential offerings. It is a developed place for assistance, learning, working, care, and outpatient support, where people with disabilities or assistance needs can find suitable support according to their life situation. According to its own representation, the foundation supports people in all areas and phases of life, orienting itself to a Christian-shaped image of humanity that places dignity, appreciation, and self-determination at its center. The institution has a very long history, beginning in 1873/1874, and today combines this tradition with modern forms of support, inclusion, and diverse offerings on the grounds in Attel and at other locations in the Wasserburg area. ([stiftung.attl.de](https://www.stiftung.attl.de/ueber-uns/))

Particularly striking is the breadth of the structure: Stiftung Attl operates in five major areas, namely living, learning, working, caring, and outpatient offerings. The barrier-free information page lists around 450 residential places, a support center, a therapeutic day care center, an integration daycare, about 330 workplaces in the Inntal workshops, as well as the nursing home Maria Stern. In addition, there are open disability services, family relief services, outpatient supported living, and adult education. This mix makes the foundation interesting for many relatives, affected individuals, and professional agencies: Those looking for a place where support is not just managed but individually designed will find a differentiated offering that addresses different life phases. ([barrierefrei.stiftung.attl.de](https://barrierefrei.stiftung.attl.de/information/die-stiftung-attl/))

Living and Living Groups in Stiftung Attl

The topic of living is one of the most important reasons why people search for Stiftung Attl. The institution describes its living area as versatile and needs-oriented. In a contribution about the people in Stiftung Attl, it is explained that the 450 places are distributed across more than 50 groups. This structure allows for very different forms of living, from intensive areas to regular living groups to models with outpatient support. This is particularly relevant for people with very different assistance needs, as it is not a standard solution that counts, but the fit between person, support needs, and everyday life. The living offerings are designed to be oriented towards competencies, needs, and individual goals. ([barrierefrei.stiftung.attl.de](https://barrierefrei.stiftung.attl.de/information/die-stiftung-attl/))

The foundation emphasizes that people with assistance needs should shape their lives according to their own wishes. This applies not only to the overall orientation but also to daily practice in the living forms. Those interested in living groups, intensive living, or another form of support will find contacts, admission forms, and clear responsibilities in the living area. For adults with intellectual disabilities as well as for children and adolescents, there are separate inquiry pathways, and upon receipt of the documents, feedback usually occurs within three weeks. This makes the entry understandable and planable. For relatives, it is important that the foundation not only provides spaces but has structured processes for consultation, assessment, and admission. ([stiftung.attl.de](https://www.stiftung.attl.de/wohnen-aufnahmeanfragen/?utm_source=openai))

The living concept is also embedded in the overall logic of the institution. Living is not isolated next to work or leisure but is part of a comprehensive support offering. Thus, people with assistance needs at Stiftung Attl can connect different areas of life, such as living, daily structure, employment, leisure, and education. The barrier-free information page describes the offerings in simple language and emphasizes that the learning area with the support center, therapeutic day care center, and integration daycare is also part of the site. This creates an environment where living means not only provision but participation, social relationships, and orientation in everyday life. This holistic approach is characteristic of the institution and explains why the search terms related to living and living groups are so strongly associated with Stiftung Attl. ([barrierefrei.stiftung.attl.de](https://barrierefrei.stiftung.attl.de/information/die-stiftung-attl/))

Inntal Workshops, Attler Market, and FAIRWERK

A second central area of search and information is the Inntal workshops. On the official page, it is stated that the workshops offer a diverse range of employment opportunities and thus consider the interests, inclinations, and competencies of the employees. The goal is professional development and, if possible, the entry into employment in the general labor market. The workshops are therefore not only a place of work but also a place of qualification, orientation, and promotion. Officially, areas such as Attler Gardening, Attler Farm, Attler Market, Support Workshop, Housekeeping, Metal Department, Assembly, Carpentry, Service and Gastronomy, Weaving, and the workshop for people with autism are mentioned. ([stiftung.attl.de](https://www.stiftung.attl.de/inntal-werkstaetten/))

The significance of this work area goes far beyond individual activities. The Inntal workshops describe their work as a contribution to participation in working life and to placement in the general labor market. This is complemented by BiB, i.e., integrated employment, where employees work in a real work environment outside the workshop and are individually supported. FAIRWERK, the in-house brand of the workshops, is also part of this profile: Products with social and design aspirations are created there, which can be personalized and are suitable as employee gifts or promotional items. For seekers, this is important because Stiftung Attl thus becomes visible not only as a place of residence but also as an employer and production site. ([stiftung.attl.de](https://www.stiftung.attl.de/inntal-werkstaetten/))

The daily work also includes concrete offerings on-site, such as the Attler Market, the Attler Gardening, and the Attler Farm. The Attler Market refers to sustainable, regional products, including flowering plants from its own pesticide-free cultivation. According to the official page, the market is open Tuesday to Friday from 9 am to 6 pm and Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm; Monday is a rest day. The workshops thus combine social participation with visible productivity and regional supply. Especially for people searching for Stiftung Attl in connection with work, market, gardening, or inclusion businesses, it becomes clear that employment, qualification, and everyday experiences interlink here. ([stiftung.attl.de](https://www.stiftung.attl.de/attler-markt-2/))

Outpatient Supported Living and OBA for More Independence

In addition to stationary or group-based living, outpatient supported living is another important component of Stiftung Attl. The official page explains that outpatient supported living assists adults with disabilities in their own apartments and thus follows the idea of inclusion. The goal is a self-determined life in the middle of society. Support is provided, among other things, for self-sufficiency, coping with everyday life, social relationships, leisure planning, conflict and crisis management, as well as participation in working life and the development of a viable daily structure. The offering is particularly relevant for people who desire more independence but need reliable support. ([stiftung.attl.de](https://www.stiftung.attl.de/ambulant-betreutes-wohnen/))

The Open Supported Work, short OBA, is also central in the context of Stiftung Attl. According to the official description, it is responsible for the municipalities in the northern district of Rosenheim, including Wasserburg city, and offers independent, provider-neutral advice in personal conversations, including home visits. This is complemented by support with applications, a barrier-free office, referral to suitable professional agencies, networking work, and general information on the topic of disability. In addition, OBA organizes leisure, education, and encounters with regulars' tables, open meetings, bowling, swimming, day trips, and multi-day trips. For families, there is also the family support service, which provides hourly relief and can be refinanced through care insurance benefits if a care level is present. So, those looking for advice, relief, or everyday support will find in Attl not only residential or work offerings but also a social infrastructure that noticeably alleviates everyday life. ([stiftung.attl.de](https://www.stiftung.attl.de/offene-betreute-angebote/))

Especially in search queries related to living and care, the strength of this approach becomes evident. Stiftung Attl thinks not only in buildings or places but in life situations. The outpatient model allows for greater independence, while OBA and family support services facilitate access to advice, leisure, and social participation. This transforms an institution into a network of support that covers various intensities of assistance. For many relatives, this is particularly important because needs can change over time. The structure of the foundation makes it possible to switch between living forms, work areas, and outpatient services or to combine them. ([stiftung.attl.de](https://www.stiftung.attl.de/ambulant-betreutes-wohnen/))

Location, Contact, Access, and Parking in Attel

Stiftung Attl is located at Attel 11, 83512 Wasserburg a. Inn. The central contact on the official page is telephone 08071 102 0 and email mail@stiftung.attl.de. The contact page also includes a map, and the foundation refers to a location plan as a PDF. This is practical because the offerings are spread across several buildings and do not take place at a single address. In addition to Attel 11, other addresses mentioned on the official pages include Attel 15, Attel 17a, Attel 19b, Attel 34, Attel 36, Fletzingergasse 26, and Schustergasse 13. The location structure shows that the foundation has a developed, spatially differentiated network. ([stiftung.attl.de](https://www.stiftung.attl.de/kontakt/))

Regarding access and parking, it is important to consider the respective occasion. The foundation publishes specific instructions for individual events. For example, for the Maypole festival, it was explicitly stated that parking should be at the entrance to the town. During the large anniversary kickoff in 2023, the foundation reported that parking spaces at the Attler Market and Attler Farm were temporarily overcrowded, and guests were directed to alternative areas. For visitors, this means: Those coming to an event should read the respective announcement carefully, as the parking situation may vary depending on the event. For regular visits in everyday life, the official map and location plan are the best starting point to find the premises and individual areas. ([stiftung.attl.de](https://www.stiftung.attl.de/150-jahre-stiftung-attl/1-mai-maibaumfest/?utm_source=openai))

The spatial location in the district of Attel is also historically interesting. The foundation has not only utilized the site but has also developed it over the decades. As a result, Attel is now a place where living, working, education, and leisure are closely intertwined. For relatives, cooperation partners, and visitors, this is an advantage because distances remain short, and various institutions are accessible in a well-structured environment. The address Attel 11 is thus not only a postal anchor but the center of a larger institutional ensemble that connects Stiftung Attl with its environment. ([stiftung.attl.de](https://www.stiftung.attl.de/kontakt/))

History, Mission Statement, and Development Since 1873

The history of Stiftung Attl goes back a long way. The statutes describe that the Order of the Brothers of Mercy established the care institution Attl as a secular foundation in 1873/1874, and the state approval was granted in 1873. The foundation also points out that the order could no longer run the operation itself for personnel reasons and that the administration was transferred in 1970 to the Catholic Caritas Association for the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising. This historical line explains why Stiftung Attl today has both a Christian background and a long history of development. It is not a newly established institution but a place that has evolved over generations. ([stiftung.attl.de](https://www.stiftung.attl.de/satzung/?utm_source=openai))

On the anniversary page and in retrospectives, it becomes clear that the development of the foundation has always been closely linked to social changes. For the 150th anniversary in 2023, historical retrospectives, exhibitions, and an extensive festival program were published. Not only was the establishment in 1873/1874 looked at, but also later milestones such as the establishment of the Inntal workshops, the development of living arrangements, and the continuation of work in modern form. A book publication about the foundation to be presented in 2025 also summarizes this long history and emphasizes that over the decades, the former care institution has become a broadly positioned social and assistance place. ([stiftung.attl.de](https://www.stiftung.attl.de/150-jahre-stiftung-attl/23-januar-historische-rueckblicke-ausstellung/?utm_source=openai))

For today's external impact, the mission statement is crucial. The foundation describes values such as social responsibility, appreciation, trust, acceptance, and putting people at the center. This self-understanding fits with the offerings in living, working, and outpatient services and explains why Stiftung Attl is regarded as a reliable contact in the region. When considering the history and current offerings together, it becomes clear: This is not just about care but about a continuous development of participation. The history is therefore not just a background but part of the identity and the search intentions associated with Stiftung Attl. ([stiftung.attl.de](https://www.stiftung.attl.de/ueber-uns/))

Admission Inquiries, Counseling, and Next Steps

Those seeking admission or a suitable support offering will find clearly defined contact paths at Stiftung Attl. For adults with intellectual disabilities, the secretariat in the residential division is responsible, while there is a separate responsibility for children and adolescents. The official page also explains that a formal inquiry can be made with the admission questionnaire, and the documents will be used for an initial assessment of care needs. This is helpful because it allows for early checking of which offering fits the needs, life situation, and perspective. For relatives, this creates transparency and a comprehensible process. ([stiftung.attl.de](https://www.stiftung.attl.de/wohnen-aufnahmeanfragen/?utm_source=openai))

The OBA also plays an important role in this context, as it not only offers leisure and counseling but also supports with social law issues and applications. People who are initially seeking orientation can thus approach the foundation through an outpatient or advisory offering before deciding on living or other services. The structure of the foundation is intentionally designed so that it is not just about a single place but about long-term support that connects different areas of life. For this reason, Stiftung Attl is a natural address for many inquiries regarding living, living groups, admission inquiries, and outpatient help. ([stiftung.attl.de](https://www.stiftung.attl.de/offene-betreute-angebote/))

Those who want to take the first step should use the official contact details and, if in doubt, directly address the appropriate area. The central location in Attel, the clear separation between living, working, and outpatient offerings, and the structured feedback after an inquiry facilitate the entry. For practice, this means: first inform, then discuss needs, and subsequently choose the appropriate form of support. This very path makes Stiftung Attl a place where orientation and participation are not only promised but organizationally considered. ([stiftung.attl.de](https://www.stiftung.attl.de/kontakt/))

It's simply admirable how our fellow citizens, who were locked away until the 1970s, now live and, in some cases, even work here. Huge respect to the caregivers!

If you just want to unwind, this is the perfect place for a visitor. It's set in a very scenic location, ideal for walks. Whether stopping off at the "Stun'n" (traditional pub) or taking a stroll (or shopping) through the Attel market with its adjacent garden center, you'll always encounter friendly, smiling faces. I also enjoy attending the various events. In Attl, they know how to celebrate in a wonderful way. I like the guys and girls and their supervisors 🥰

A very well-managed company that has continued to develop over the last few years
