The castle is located on a hill, so be prepared to climb for 15 minutes straight uphill. Entrance is only possible with a guided tour. The tour lasts an hour and doesn't include many rooms, but it's interesting. The surrounding landscapes are picturesque! The tour is conducted in German, but the guide will try to partially translate into English for those who don't speak German.

This castle is a must-see! Entrance costs only 7 Euro, the guided tour is very interesting and interactive. Visit Aschau, because, as the locals say: "Aschau ist a' schau!" (Aschau is a stunning view!)

Not sure about the insides of the castle or if the entry fee is worth it as it was closed when I was there. The hike up to the castle is well worth it however as these pictures show. There's a bench up there, too, so one can take in the view. Beautiful.
