Jonathan Hotel offers peaceful quietude among beautiful mountainous surroundings. Stroll along country lanes with fields of wheat, corn, wild flowers and horses. The hosts Martin and Sandra kindly go to every length to make your stay perfection, as they invite you to really feel at home. Delicious, amazing organic food is served daily and there are lovely spaces to relax that includes a sauna and jacuzzi; it is the perfect place to just let go and be. I have visited this gorgeous hotel more than 5 times and each visit, I fall more in love with the place, the people and the beauty. Nearby there are lakes for swimming and woods to explore. One could say this is heaven on earth.

Over six years we gave twelve large seminars at the Yonatan, until the food, service, and management that used to be "decent to good" went downhill. Our feedback wasn't heard, and we weren't getting that "valued regular customer feeling at all anymore." Young inexperienced cooks and staff that didn't care didn't do it for us. The surrounding area and the cozy house atmosphere were wonderful. The rooms were comfy but cleanliness and service were always spotty. The big seminar room is fantastic, with a sound system from heaven, but really good food is a must at a five day retreat. Finally, without saying anything more, we quietly moved our seminars to Sonnenstrahl in Kissleg.

The Jonathan Seminar Hotel is a special place to be. I noticed that it has been evolving over the seven years that I have been visiting it, and learned that the founder, Charles, after thirty very successful years, has been attempting to remove himself from his old role as CEO since 2012. I have been a part of its changing from a "one man show" into a "tribe of councilmen and women", and the road has not always been paved. Many new things are being learned as this seminar hotel grows beyond into a seminar hotel that also hosts a small community and developing consciousness foundation. Change has never been simple and easy for me, so this place seems to fit as new challenges are presented every day to exercise this part in myself. I personally love this place. I love the surroundings, the thriving permaculture project, the fact that there are no chemicals used in the Housekeeping supplies, the food, or in the garden. I like that there is limited access to the internet, although for me, it was a challenge in the beginning to not be "connected" in that way. I learned other ways to be connected. And it wasn't so often with devices anymore. The house seems to be going through its own transformation process, as many of its participants had themselves within its walls. I don't know what the future holds exactly, but I do see the quality in the house rising, and the team seems to be figuring out how to live in these new times. Slow, but steady, it's becoming something refreshed and new while still retaining its original intention to be a place for consciousness and growth.

I was there for a seminar. Charles, the owner, was very arrogant, disrespectful, unpolite, rude, and tried to flirt with my girlfriend (what's more, she's 20, he's more than 65). If you want to spend your time and money for your personal growth, or just relaxing with good vibes all around you, with a gentle and honest owner, you'd better look for another place.
