Consecration Sunday with Choral Sound and Chamber Orchestra in Aschau
On Sunday, October 18, 2026, the Catholic Parish Church Aschau Presentation of the Lord will transform into a captivating concert hall. At the celebration concert for Consecration Sunday, the Vocal Ensemble Chiemgau under the direction of Bernadette Osterhammer and the Chamber Orchestra Sinfonia Aschau under the direction of Rupert Schäffer will come together.
Vocal Music with Festive Depth
The clear, multi-layered sound of the chamber choir is in focus. Bernadette Osterhammer has selected choral works by Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina and guides the ensemble through a program that combines a spiritual atmosphere with demanding choral music. In the church acoustics, voices, dynamics, and orchestration unfold with a special spatial effect.
Sinfonia Aschau Sets Musical Highlights
Together with Sinfonia Aschau, a concert evening is created that intertwines choral singing and instrumental sound colors. The conducting of Bernadette Osterhammer and Rupert Schäffer pools the musical lines into a precise synchronization between the vocal ensemble and the chamber orchestra. The historical church architecture lends the stage performance a concentrated, festive atmosphere.
Live Atmosphere in the Parish Church
The concert experience thrives on quiet piano moments, sustaining choral passages, and the warm resonance of the church space. Between the tradition of Consecration and classical concert culture, an audience atmosphere arises that invites attentive listening. Aschau thus becomes a meeting point for friends of spiritual music, choral culture, and chamber music art on Consecration Sunday.
