One of the biggest lakes in Bavaria. The best place to be with nature. There are snow-capped Alps in the background, which makes it even more beautiful. It is really relaxing to be here in the first place. They have several boat tours throughout the day. The most interesting is the one with the two islands, especially Fraueninsel. You can spend an entire day exploring the different islands of Chiemsee, and it still won't be enough. They have a big parking lot all around the place.

We had a wonderful day in October visiting Chiemsee and taking the ferries to both Herreninsel and Fraueninsel. Both islands offer walking trails with beautiful scenery. The ferry schedule is frequent. It was 18 Euros for both islands, I believe. If you're in the area, Chiemsee is a great way to spend a day!

Expensive ride, 12€ for the shortest trip. I would ask them to consider the pricing due to the low frequency of boats available.

This is the best place to get a ride on the ferry over to the island. This company has lots of boats and a great schedule. You can visit the palace and the smaller islands or go across to the far side. You can purchase a ticket for one destination or all. Reasonable rates.

This is a beautiful spot. The scenery is simply stunning. This lake is an awesome place to visit. There is a veil of bucolic idyll that covers the whole place. It is an incredibly picturesque sight. If you are in the area, definitely make a visit to the lake a top priority. There is a regular ferry service and plenty of places where you can go hiking or cycling. Definitely a must-visit destination!
