For cyclists, the Inn Cycle Path is particularly interesting, as it passes almost directly by the front door, and a spacious bike garage with many sockets is also available. Arrival is possible from 3:00 PM; personal check-in is available from Tuesday to Sunday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and additionally on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays until 8:30 PM. Especially in a house like the Alpenhof, the location is not just a detail but part of the experience. The hotel is located in the Upper Bavarian Inn Valley, in a region where mountains, valleys, meadows, and short distances to excursion destinations come together. For many guests, it is important to quickly reach the accommodation while simultaneously feeling from the very first moment that they have arrived in a landscape that invites them to breathe deeply. This is exactly the impression the Alpenhof conveys: The address is easy to remember, orientation on-site is uncomplicated, and parking directly at the house is a real advantage. Even those who need to travel early in the morning or arrive late in the evening benefit from the clear processes surrounding check-in and key handover. Thus, the Alpenhof combines the practical aspect of a well-connected accommodation with the charm of a quiet retreat. This is particularly important for guests traveling by car or motorcycle who appreciate short distances but do not seek an anonymous stopover. The Alpenhof presents itself as a reliable, personal, and very uncomplicated base for any type of stay. ([alpenhof-oberaudorf.de](https://www.alpenhof-oberaudorf.de/landhotel/anreise/))
Rooms with Balcony, Mountain View, and 3-Star Comfort
The rooms are one of the strongest reasons why guests quickly feel at home in the Alpenhof Oberaudorf. The house has 30 beds in comfortably furnished rooms that are continuously renovated and each have their own balcony. From there, the view opens up to the mountains that characterize the stay at the Alpenhof: Wildbarren, Brünnstein, Kranzhorn, and the Tyrolean Kaiser Mountains create a backdrop that makes the character of the house immediately visible. All rooms are equipped with a shower and toilet, direct dial telephone, Wi-Fi, digital TV, hairdryer, and alarm clock, so traditional hospitality and contemporary comfort come together. The room categories Edelweiß, Rose, and Apfelblüte differ in size and location, allowing guests to choose their stay according to the occasion and personal preferences. In a small country hotel, not only the technical equipment counts, but also the feeling of tranquility, clarity, and loving details. This feeling is conveyed by the Alpenhof with its mix of cozy ambiance, fresh renovation, and unobstructed views of nature. When you open the balcony door in the morning, you experience not just a hotel room, but a place that consciously feels like a temporary home. ([alpenhof-oberaudorf.de](https://www.alpenhof-oberaudorf.de/preise/))
Even for longer stays, the room amenities are convincing, as they are both functional and homely. The small size of the house ensures that personal hospitality remains palpable, while ongoing renovations keep the standard current. The Alpenhof concept does not rely on over-staging but on a calm, high-quality atmosphere that works easily in everyday life: arrive, unpack, use the balcony, enjoy the view of the mountains, and rely on an orderly daily rhythm. Those who book directly through the website benefit from the best prices and booking conditions, making the Alpenhof economically attractive as well. For guests with dogs, stays are also possible, provided the dog is house-trained, behaves friendly towards other guests, and a dog blanket is brought along; a small cleaning fee is charged for this. Together with the rich breakfast buffet, which is already included in the overnight price, a coherent overall package is created for vacationers, hikers, travelers, and anyone seeking a relaxed accommodation with a clear line. The Alpenhof shows how pleasant a small country hotel can be when comfort is not loudly staged but consistently maintained. ([alpenhof-oberaudorf.de](https://www.alpenhof-oberaudorf.de/preise/))
Breakfast, Restaurant, and Regional Cuisine
The culinary offerings are clearly among the most important search and decision topics at the Alpenhof Oberaudorf, and for good reason. The breakfast buffet is open daily from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM; for business travelers and early risers, breakfast is available upon request from 7:15 AM. This allows the house to respond flexibly to different daily plans and shows that service here consists not only of nice words but also practical processes. In the afternoon, the restaurant is open exclusively for house guests from Tuesday to Sunday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, offering coffee, cake, snacks, cold drinks, and hearty small dishes. On Wednesdays from May to October, as well as Fridays and Saturdays, an evening menu is available from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM; on these days, the restaurant is open until 10:00 PM. Mondays are a day off. The kitchen consciously sees itself as typically Bavarian and seasonal: regional products, traditional dishes, and changing specialties characterize the offerings. The menu includes not only classic meat dishes but also seasonal components and vegetarian options. This keeps the restaurant down-to-earth and variable at the same time. For those who do not want to travel far after an active day in the mountains, the Alpenhof offers a reliable, unpretentious, yet enjoyable solution right at the house. ([alpenhof-oberaudorf.de](https://www.alpenhof-oberaudorf.de/en/restaurant/opening-hours/))
Particularly appealing is the way the Alpenhof stages the culinary experience: not urban, not elevated, but consciously regional and approachable. On the sunny terrace, deck chairs are available under apple trees in summer, while a warm, cozy atmosphere is created in the comfortable parlor or the fireplace room. These two sides of the house, the open terrace and the sheltered interior, make the Alpenhof a place where one enjoys staying regardless of the season. The kitchen operates on the principle that house guests and regulars have appreciated for years: good ingredients, familiar flavors, seasonal variety, and a clear connection to the region. Even breakfast signals that value is placed on homemade and local products. The regular evening offerings also fit well with a country hotel that wants to provide not just overnight stays but real quality of stay. So, if you are looking for a hotel with a restaurant, reliable opening hours, and a kitchen with a regional touch, you will find a very coherent combination of practical service and pleasantly honest enjoyment at the Alpenhof. ([alpenhof-oberaudorf.de](https://www.alpenhof-oberaudorf.de/en/restaurant/opening-hours/))
Sauna Experience in the Old Stable
A special asset of the Alpenhof Oberaudorf is the stable sauna, which gives the house a distinctive wellness profile. In the old stable building, a retreat has been thoughtfully created, where the charm of the existing structure meets a new feel-good concept. The sauna is designed as an exclusive offering and can be reserved for private use for a fee. This is precisely its appeal: no overcrowded spa landscape, but a quiet, individual, and consciously small break. The scent of coniferous woods, the stable doors as a reminder of the former use, and the soft light between the boards create an ambiance that is warm, authentic, and surprising. For guests seeking relaxation after a hike, a bike tour, or a winter day outdoors, this sauna is more than just an additional offering. It is part of the house's history, newly interpreted for today's needs. The Alpenhof demonstrates how to create something distinctive from existing substance without overshadowing the character of the house. The result is not a standardized wellness solution but a place with personality, atmosphere, and a clear focus on tranquility. ([alpenhof-oberaudorf.de](https://www.alpenhof-oberaudorf.de/sauna-erlebnis/?utm_source=openai))
In conjunction with the renovated rooms, the cozy restaurant, and the quiet location, a holistic relaxation concept emerges. The Alpenhof does not understand relaxation as a loud staging but as a result of details: sufficient quiet, good air, a balcony with a mountain view, a warm parlor, good food, and a sauna that is consciously kept private. This is particularly attractive for couples, active guests, and those seeking relaxation who are looking for a clear alternative to large hotel complexes. The stable sauna therefore not only complements the house in content but also emotionally: it represents the attitude of carefully developing the existing and creating something new from it. Those who choose the Alpenhof for the sauna simultaneously opt for the rest of the concept, thus for personal hospitality, manageable size, and accommodation that plays its strengths not in quantity but in the quality of its offerings. Thus, the stable sauna becomes a highlight that remains in memory because it does not seem interchangeable. ([alpenhof-oberaudorf.de](https://www.alpenhof-oberaudorf.de/sauna-erlebnis/?utm_source=openai))
Leisure, Excursions, and Active Vacation around Oberaudorf
The surroundings of the Alpenhof are perfectly suited for guests seeking movement, landscape, and variety. In summer, the offerings begin right at the doorstep: The Inn Cycle Path runs almost past the house, mountain bikers find suitable trails at Sudelfeld, walkers can start around the house, and there are paths along the mountain stream for Nordic walking. For those wanting to go higher, the Kaiser Mountains, Brünnstein, Wendelstein, or Kranzhorn can be reached from here, providing a wide selection of tours for different fitness levels. Additionally, swimming lakes and recreational facilities in the surrounding area, such as Hödenauer Lake for water sports or the beautiful lakes and swimming pools of the region, are available. Paragliding, hang gliding, summer tobogganing, and the climbing garden at Hocheck complement the active offerings. This makes the Alpenhof a very good starting point for people who want to spend their vacation consciously outdoors while still seeking a quiet, small base with hotel comfort. The fact that the house itself places these activities at the center fits perfectly with its location in the Inn Valley, where alpine scenery and good accessibility combine ideally. ([alpenhof-oberaudorf.de](https://www.alpenhof-oberaudorf.de/en/perfect-for/perfect-for-summer/?utm_source=openai))
In winter, the region around the Alpenhof proves to be at least as versatile. Skiing, snowboarding, ski touring, snowshoeing, winter hiking, cross-country skiing, and tobogganing are among the obvious options. Particularly convenient is that the groomed trail runs directly behind the house. Additionally, the hotel points to the Hocheck ski area with the longest illuminated slope in Germany and a lit winter toboggan run. The nearby Tyrolean Kössen and Sudelfeld with several lifts and many kilometers of slopes are also mentioned as attractive destinations. For guests, this means: The Alpenhof is not only a good starting point in summer but all year round. Those who are active will find many options here; those who prefer to relax can still benefit from the landscape. This combination of active vacation and tranquility is particularly typical for Oberaudorf. The hotel addresses these target groups by making summer and winter themes, bicycles, hikes, family activities, and excursions equally visible on its website. This creates a place that invites not only for overnight stays but also for planning, trying out, and returning. ([alpenhof-oberaudorf.de](https://www.alpenhof-oberaudorf.de/en/perfect-for/perfect-for-winter/?utm_source=openai))
Tradition, Family History, and the Special Alpenhof Feeling
Behind the Alpenhof stands not just a building but a developed hospitality story. Over 85 years and three generations, the Schmid family has cultivated a form of hospitality in the house that consciously relies on warmth, quality, and personality. In 2012, the Alpenhof was handed over to the next generation and reopened with a fresh concept; further major renovations and expansions followed in 2021 and 2022. This development explains why the Alpenhof today appears both familiar and modern. The original character has not been sacrificed for the sake of arbitrary hotel aesthetics but has been carefully further developed. The result is a house that regular guests recognize and new guests quickly understand. The location in the district of Niederaudorf further supports this effect, as the village has preserved its rural character with a church, village fountain, bakery, small shops, and old farmhouses. The connection to the Reisach Monastery and the fruit tree alley between the village and the monastery also contribute to the pleasant authenticity of the surroundings. Niederaudorf was also awarded gold in the 2010 competition “Our Village Has a Future – Our Village Should Become More Beautiful.” This origin is felt in the Alpenhof: not as folklore but as a living framework for a stay that should be calm, tidy, and close to nature. ([alpenhof-oberaudorf.de](https://www.alpenhof-oberaudorf.de/en/country-hotel/past-and-present/?utm_source=openai))
The special Alpenhof feeling also includes a clear orientation towards different guest groups. The house sees itself as a good place for travelers, business people, active vacationers, culture enthusiasts, and festival guests. Particularly the reference to the nearby festival program in Tyrolean Erl shows that the Alpenhof is not only intended for nature vacations but also provides a suitable basis for cultural trips. The house also openly states that it is continually being redesigned and developed with new features, without losing its family soul. This blend makes its brand strong: personal hosts, real quality, good accessibility, functioning processes, and an environment that allows both movement and relaxation. Those who book here do not receive an anonymous standard product but an accommodation with character and history. Therefore, the Alpenhof Oberaudorf is suitable for guests who consciously seek a small, honest, and stylish accommodation where one does not just sleep but truly feels welcome. Direct booking through the website is explicitly highlighted by the house with the best prices and booking conditions, making the stay even more attractive. On Mondays and outside these times, contactless arrival via the key safe is provided. ([alpenhof-oberaudorf.de](https://www.alpenhof-oberaudorf.de/landhotel/anreise/))
Definitely a quite expensive hotel, but if you consider the great wellness section and the extraordinary breakfast as well as the short distance to the ski lift, it is definitely worth the price. Sometimes, however, I got the impression that the waiters working at the restaurant had some difficulties coping with getting the tables cleaned up.
