Hear history where it happened
On October 9, 2026, the B&O grounds in Bad Aibling will transform into an atmospheric stage for local history. The literary audio stroll Whispered History(-ies) combines historical images, narrative impulses, and acoustic soundscapes into an impressive journey through a site with a turbulent past.
An exploratory experience with headphones
Equipped with headphones, the group follows the traces of a place that wore many faces during the 20th century. The voices and sounds accompany the path through a story that is not only read but directly experienced at the historical site. In the ensuing twilight, a special atmosphere emerges between the present, memory, and local history.
From Air Force Base to a Place of New Beginnings
The audio walk leads through central chapters of the cultural heritage at the B&O grounds: from the former air force base to prisoner of war and displaced persons camps to the International Children's Village and its later use by the US Army. War, new beginnings, hope, and memory are placed in historical contexts.
Personal fates and historical contexts
The city tour is particularly impressive due to the connection between personal fates and larger historical developments. Historical images and narrative perspectives make the past vivid and open a differentiated view of the varied use of the site.
