CANCELLED: Nature Experience on Lake Chiemsee to the Delta of the Tiroler Achen
The experience boat trip to the delta of the Tiroler Achen scheduled for Friday, October 2, 2026, is cancelled. The nature tour on Lake Chiemsee would have led from Übersee-Feldwies to the mouth area of the Tiroler Achen.
On the harbor barge Birgit across the Bavarian Sea
During the approximately three-hour trip on the former harbor barge Birgit, participants experience the landscape of Lake Chiemsee from a unique perspective. Trained nature guides or biologists provide knowledge about the lake's formation as a relic of the last ice age and its slow decline.
Discovering the Achendelta as a Natural Space
The route leads close to the mouth area of the Tiroler Achen, considered the best-preserved inland delta in Central Europe. Surrounding the nature reserve, the focus is on the formation of new land, the ecological significance of Lake Chiemsee, and the diverse birdlife. With nets and binoculars, the underwater world of the lake can be vividly examined during regular scheduled dates.
Meeting Point and Practical Information
The meeting point is at the boat dock in Übersee-Feldwies at Julius-Exter-Promenade 11. For regular dates, registration through the tourism office in Prien is required; there is no registration option at the boat dock. The group size is limited to a maximum of 22 people. Weather-appropriate clothing, sun protection, and a drink are recommended equipment. The event is conditionally accessible and suitable upon agreement; there are no toilets on board.
Conclusion
This event will not take place on October 2, 2026. The experience boat trip combines Lake Chiemsee navigation, local history, natural city and landscape guides, and direct impressions at the Tiroler Achen delta. For a replacement date, please inquire at the tourism office in Prien.
