Trail running with mountain views: The Hocheck Short Round challenges Oberaudorf
On Saturday, October 3, 2026, the Oberaudorf Trail Festival transforms the Kurpark into a vibrant start and finish area for ambitious runners. The starting shot for the Hocheck Short [S] Round is fired at 10:15 AM. Over 12.4 kilometers, 506 meters of elevation gain, varied trails, and a panorama that deserves every step await.
12.4 kilometers between forest paths and mountain trails
The route combines challenging trails with fast forest paths and varying terrain forms. After the start in the Kurpark, the race leads into a continuous up and down through the mountains around Oberaudorf. Tactics and energy management are crucial: those who attack too early on the ascent will feel the elevation later on the downhill.
506 meters of elevation gain, 840 meters peak height, and a fast finish
The highest point is around 840 meters. There is no resting here; it transitions into a rapid descent. Technical sections, changing surfaces, and a final stretch on asphalt require concentration until the finish line. The official course description indicates a target time of about two and a half hours; the finish line is scheduled to close at 2:00 PM.
Stadium atmosphere in the Kurpark
Even before the start, fan chants, audience noise, and the tense silence before the first ascent shape the stadium atmosphere of the trail running festival. Participants, families, and fans gather in the Kurpark while expos, refreshments, music, and food trucks accompany the competition day. The excitement of sports directly translates to the trails: every effort, every curve, and every meter of elevation counts.
A race for experienced trail runners and ambitious newcomers
The Hocheck Short [S] Round attracts runners looking to transition from road running to trail running or to test their mountain running technique. Sure-footedness, controlled pacing on the ascent, and a wise combination of speed, rhythm, and reserves provide advantages. A minimum age of 14 years applies for participation in the event year.
Conclusion: Experience mountain running emotions live
The Hocheck Short [S] Round connects athletic challenge, alpine landscape, and festival atmosphere for an intense trail running experience. Visitors experience the start up close in the Kurpark, follow the competition dynamics along the course, and celebrate the finishers at the finish line. Those who want to feel the energy of the Oberaudorf Trail Festival should mark October 3, 2026, on their calendars.
