Franz Schubert as a literary presence: Concert-reading in Oberaudorf
On Saturday, October 17, 2026, the concert-reading Memories of Franz Schubert combines literary collective memory with finely nuanced chamber music. In the community hall of the Resurrection Church, an evening is created where Franz Schubert becomes almost physically present through Eduard von Bauernfeld's life memories.
Between Memory, Voice, and Music
Eduard von Bauernfeld depicts Schubert from immediate historical proximity. His account opens an atmospheric access to a personality whose musical language still moves between intimacy, melancholy, and surprising modernity today. The text presentation by Jürgen Plich transforms the historical source into a lively literary encounter.
Piano and Viola in Dialogue
Anastasiia Shcherbakova and Jürgen Plich shape the musical part at the piano, while Julia Ruge enriches the evening with the warm, human sound of the viola. The combination of reading and classical music creates an intimate reading atmosphere in which linguistic artistry and musical tension intertwine.
A Literary Experience in the Inn Valley
The event opens the concert series Piano Artistry 2026 in Oberaudorf. The format is aimed at literature enthusiasts, classical audiences, and anyone who wishes to experience an author encounter from a historical perspective. The focus is not on abstract work data, but on the sensory experience of an era in which personal memory, musical genius, and cultural exchange were closely linked.
Conclusion
The concert-reading promises a touching evening between literature, chamber music, and historical close-up. Those who wish to experience Schubert not only as a composer but as a person in the mirror of his time will find an extraordinary literary-musical experience in Oberaudorf.
