Plastic Encounters: A Little Head Between Form, Material, and Imagination

On Thursday, November 5, 2026, the New Artist Colony Brannenburg invites you to a thematic meetup with Christine Schauerte. Under the title Here and Away, the focus is on the joint exploration and practical engagement with the human head: Participants will shape a little head once in a plasticizing manner and once in a sculpting manner.

Between Building and Working Out

The event offers immediate access to sculpture. In plasticizing work, the form is created by adding and building up material; in sculpting, it is worked out of an existing block. Two different artistic mindsets come together, making visible how closely idea, material, and hand movement are interconnected.

The Face as an Artistic Field of Research

The human visage is one of the most traditional motifs in art history. In the exploration of the work, the head becomes an experimental field for proportion, volume, surface, and expression. The aesthetic experience arises not only from the finished result but already in the concentrated process of modeling and finding form.

Art Experience in the Artist Colony

The exhibition atmosphere of the New Artist Colony Brannenburg combines artistic exchange with cultural education. The thematic meetup is aimed at interested parties with and without prior knowledge. The focus is on curiosity, collaborative work, and the sensory experience of form and material. Thus, the monthly meeting becomes a vibrant forum for painting, sculpture, installation, and contemporary art practice.

Conclusion: Art is Created in Direct Action

The thematic meetup with Christine Schauerte promises a concentrated evening between plastic building, sculptural working out, and joint reflection. Those who want to experience not just observing art but creating it with their own hands will find an inspiring art experience in a personal atmosphere here.
