The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of: Paintings and Installations at the Bernau Town Hall

On Friday, October 9, 2026, the exhibition The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of opens at the Bernau Town Hall by Lake Chiemsee. The Bernau Art Circle and its guest artists combine painting, installations, textile materials, and fashion into a multifaceted art experience. The vernissage starts at 6 PM and will be musically accompanied by Antonio Guerrero.

Between Dream World, Textile, and Artistic Imagination

The exhibition title refers to a poetic intersection between reality and imagination. In the works presented, colors, shapes, fabrics, and spatial arrangements meet. Painting and installation provide different approaches to experiencing the works and invite contemplation of the symbolic power of textiles, clothing, and materiality.

Bernau Art Circle and International Guest Artists

Participants include Corinna Brandl, Yaninne Cansaya, Dorothee Tielemann, Christl Wittmann, and Peter Zeiler from the Bernau Art Circle, as well as guest artists Heinz Aschenbrenner, Silvia Bitschnau, Julia Lippitsch, Hedwig Meinhart, and Eva Rubin from Innsbruck. The exhibition thus presents a regional and cross-border perspective on contemporary art.

Fashion as Cultural Memory

On the first floor and in the foyer of the town hall, a special exhibition complements the project. It honors the 50th anniversary of the fashion studio Monika Reiter. Fabrics, textile surfaces, and fashion appear here as carriers of memory, identity, and aesthetic experience. An additional sculpture by Antje Tesche-Mentzen will be on display in front of the town hall during the vernissage.

Exhibition Atmosphere at Bernau Town Hall

The exhibition unfolds its impact in the public spaces of the town hall. The foyer and the first floor become a meeting place for art, architecture, and everyday life. Visitors can expect a concentrated viewing of works with paintings and installations, as well as a musical atmosphere with Peruvian and Spanish sounds at the opening.

Conclusion: An Art Experience Between Dream and Material

The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of combines contemporary painting, installation, textile art, and fashion into an exhibition with sensual and cultural depth. Art enthusiasts can experience a versatile presentation of regional positions and international guest artists at the Bernau Town Hall. The free admission offers an inspiring aesthetic experience and enriches cultural education in the region.
