Kolbermoorer Organ Wednesday: 30 Minutes of Organ Sound in Unique Church Acoustics
On Wednesday, November 4, 2026, the Catholic parish church of the Return of Christ in Kolbermoor will open its doors for the Kolbermoorer Organ Wednesday. Starting at 19:45, organ music will be at the center of a concentrated concert experience with free admission.
Organ Music between Sacred Space and Concert Stage
The monthly Organ Wednesday combines church music with the immediate atmosphere of a live concert. For about 30 minutes, the sound unfolds in the church space, whose acoustics support both quiet registers and festive sound colors as well as powerful tutti passages. The audience experiences resonance, reverberation, and musical dynamics up close.
Compact Concert Experience with Great Sound Impact
The concert series takes place on the first Wednesday of each month and has been part of Kolbermoor's cultural life for many years. The previous series has already reached almost 13,000 listeners in 135 concerts. The program regularly includes works of organ and church music from different eras and styles.
The Organ of the Return of Christ
In the parish church, an instrument from the workshop Frenger & Eder from Bruckmühl sounds. The organ, consecrated in 2012, features 23 sounding registers on two manuals and a pedal. This provides a versatile foundation for differentiated orchestration, colorful sound changes, and precise musical conducting at the organ.
An Evening for Music Lovers and Curious Explorers
Whether confirmed lovers of sacred music, classical fans, or visitors looking for a peaceful musical break: the Kolbermoorer Organ Wednesday creates space for concentrated listening. The audience's mood thrives on the closeness to the instrument and the special connection of stage performance, church space, and authentic live atmosphere.
