New York Hard-Bop Tradition with a Personal Touch

Joe Magnarelli is one of the prominent trumpeters in the contemporary jazz scene. The musician, born in Syracuse, moved to New York in 1986 and has worked with Lionel Hampton, Ray Barretto, Buddy Rich, Harry Connick Jr., and Toshiko Akiyoshi, among others. His playing style combines lyrical lines, precise articulation, and the powerful energy of modern Hard Bop.

Virtuoso Improvisation and Warm Trumpet Sound

In the quintet, melodic clarity, rhythmic synchronization, and spontaneous improvisation come together. Magnarelli's trumpet sound moves between elegant bop, straight-ahead jazz, and blues-influenced stage performance. Each solo arc arises from the interplay of orchestration, groove, and attentive musical dialogue.

From New York Club to Rosenheim Stage

Magnarelli has released numerous albums as a bandleader, including Why Not, Persistence, My Old Flame, Three On Two, and Decidedly So. As a sought-after sideman and ensemble leader, he has been present in clubs and concert halls worldwide for decades. Le Pirate provides the perfect setting for this concert: immediate audience proximity, short paths to the stage, and an atmosphere where every trumpet signal, every drum detail, and every bass line remains audible.

Jazz Up Close at Le Pirate

Le Pirate is regarded as an important meeting point for the Bavarian jazz scene and is known for its focused live atmosphere. The limited club capacity creates a personal concert experience where the audience's mood directly flows back into the music. Between bright trumpet colors, buoyant swing, and intense solos, an evening for jazz lovers and curious explorers unfolds.
