Fiona Grond & Luca Zambito: Lyrical Jazz at Le Pirate
On Sunday, October 25, 2026, two distinctive voices from the young Munich jazz scene will meet at the Rosenheim Jazz Club Le Pirate: singer and composer Fiona Grond and pianist and composer Luca Zambito. Their concert begins at 8:00 PM and combines jazz, song art, improvisation, and contemporary songwriting.
An Intimate Dialogue of Voice and Piano
Fiona Grond and Luca Zambito explore the tradition of the piano-vocal duo with great stylistic openness. Original compositions and selected favorite pieces from different eras of music history encounter each other in a dynamic dramaturgy of harmony, melody, rhythm, and phrasing.
The reduced lineup creates space for immediate communication. Grond's versatile singing meets Zambito's narrative piano language; every musical impulse can open a new direction. Sometimes the interaction sounds delicate and lyrical, at other times rhythmically playful, textually powerful, or onomatopoeic.
Modern Jazz Language with Musical Depth
After her debut album Interspaces in 2021, Fiona Grond released the album Poesias with the renowned label ACT Records. The Swiss vocalist and composer has collaborated with the Jazzrausch Bigband and the Christian Elsässer Jazz Orchestra, among others. Her awards include the Jazz Prize of the City of Halle, the Women in Jazz Next Generation competition, the Jazzbeet competition of the Jazzfest Bonn, and the Leonhard-and-Ida-Wolf Memorial Prize for Music of the State Capital Munich.
Luca Zambito represents spontaneous, multifaceted improvisation and a harmonically independent sound language. The Munich pianist won the LAG Jazz Prize in 2018, the Young Munich Jazz Prize in 2021, and received the BMW Young Artist Jazz Award in 2023. His debut album Ancestry was released in 2023 on Unit Records.
Live Atmosphere in the Rosenheim Jazz Living Room
Le Pirate offers the perfect setting for this concert experience: a focused space, short distances between stage and audience, and an acoustic environment where nuances remain audible. With a smaller lineup, the evening is entirely centered on the synchronization of voice, piano, breath, text, and spontaneous conducting in the moment.
This concert evening is expected to appeal to all those who want to experience modern jazz, European song art, and improvised stage performance up close. The audience's atmosphere is created here from concentrated listening and the surprising twists of a duo that does not display but playfully shifts musical boundaries.
Conclusion: Two Artists, One Open Sound Space
Fiona Grond and Luca Zambito promise an intense jazz concert at Le Pirate that balances lyrical precision, free improvisation, and narrative composition. Those who want to not only hear contemporary music but also witness its creation should enjoy this evening live in Rosenheim.
