Dedication Church Organ Concert with great sound splendor in Kolbermoor
On Sunday, October 18, 2026, the Parish Church of the Holy Trinity in Kolbermoor invites you to a special master concert. Cathedral organist Balthasar Baumgartner will make the restored organ shine starting at 5 PM. Admission is free.
Romantic organ music in a sacred atmosphere
The program features works by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Max Reger, Louis Vierne, and Franz Liszt. Their music combines dramatic timbres, virtuosic lines, and impressive crescendos. In the acoustics of the church, the organ unfolds a widely articulated sound architecture between delicate registration and powerful tutti effect.
An award-winning organist returns home
Balthasar Baumgartner is the cathedral organist at St. Peter's Cathedral in Osnabrück and teaches organ at the University of Osnabrück. During his school years, he completed a young study at the Mozarteum Salzburg, followed by studying church music and organ at the University of Music and Theatre Munich. In 2010, he won first prize at the International Mainz Organ Competition. He received further awards at the German Music Competition in Bonn, the August Everding Music Competition in Munich, and the Canadian International Organ Competition in Montreal.
Concert experience between precision and emotion
The approximately 60-minute concert combines professional sovereignty with immediate live atmosphere. Baumgartner's stage performance thrives on precise synchronization, differentiated conducting at the organ, and a sound-conscious orchestration of the individual registers. The audience experiences how polyphonic structures, French sound colors, and late romantic sound power come together in the church space to create an impressive musical tension arc.
Dedication tradition with a musical highlight
The dedication organ concert traditionally concludes the dedication market in Kolbermoor. The Holy Trinity provides a pleasant setting for this: centrally located, sacredly shaped, and acoustically oriented towards the organ sound. Those who appreciate classical organ music, spiritual concert culture, and extraordinary interpretations will find an impressive evening with free admission here.
Conclusion
A renowned cathedral organist, a versatile program, and the restored organ of the Parish Church of the Holy Trinity make this dedication organ concert a special cultural event in Kolbermoor. Experience Mendelssohn, Reger, Vierne, and Liszt live and let yourself be carried away by the richness of sound of this master concert.
