Schumann Quartet in the Festsaal of Schloss Neubeuern
On Saturday, October 10, 2026, the Schumann Quartet will perform at 8:00 PM in the historic Festsaal of Schloss Neubeuern. The concert combines great chamber music tradition with contemporary sound language and promises a focused evening full of musical tension.
Haydn's Classical Foundation
The concert will begin with Joseph Haydn's String Quartet in F Major op. 77 No. 2 Hob. III:82, which bears the nickname Lobkowitz. Haydn's precise dialogues, elegant thematic work, and fine rhythmic synchronization place the highest demands on ensemble playing and articulation. In the acoustically special ambience of the castle, the classical orchestration unfolds its full clarity.
Akira Nishimura's Radiant Sound World
With Akira Nishimura's String Quartet No. 2 Pulses of Light, the program opens up to a modern, colorful musical language. The work relies on dynamic soundscapes, contrasting impulses, and intense communication among the four string players. Between fragile moments and concentrated energy, a sound emerges that makes chamber music immediately and physically experienceable.
Four Voices, One Common Breath
The Schumann Quartet was founded by siblings Erik, Ken, and Mark Schumann; in 2012, the violist Liisa Randalu from Tallinn joined the ensemble. The musicians have been familiar with each other since their youth, blending technical precision with a particularly homogeneous quartet sound. Awards, international concert activities, and collaborations with renowned artists have established the ensemble in the European chamber music scene.
Live Atmosphere in the Castle
The Festsaal of Schloss Neubeuern provides the perfect setting for an evening of concerts where every nuance counts: the bow stroke, the brief pause before a new motif, and the finely tuned interplay between violin, viola, and cello. The audience's mood thrives on this closeness to the stage and the immediate effect of acoustic music.
Anyone wishing to experience Haydn's classical form art and Nishimura's modern sound conception in an extraordinary historical space will find a concert experience with depth, dynamics, and musical expressiveness at the Castle Concert. Secure your seat and experience the Schumann Quartet live in Neubeuern.
